The start of a new year often brings renewed attention to everyday habits—what we eat, how often we cook at home, and which foods we turn to for comfort.
Throughout the year, Noom members log their meals to better understand their eating habits and achieve different health goals. When you look at those logs together, they create a snapshot of real-world food choices across different parts of the country.
And those choices aren’t just personal—they’re shaped by geography, too. Regional cuisines, local restaurant chains, cultural traditions, and the availability of certain foods all influence what ends up on the plate—and in food logs.
Before we dive into those state-by-state favorites, it’s worth taking a step back and looking at the most popular foods logged and what the Noom community accomplished together in 2025.
What Noomers logged in 2025
Noomers logged an impressive 190 million meals across the year, and hydration was a priority with 31 million cups of water logged.
Among all meals, the most frequently logged foods were
- 🍌Banana
- ☕Coffee
- 🧈Butter
- 🥑Avocado
When it came to proteins, eggs took the top spot, followed by chicken breast.
Activity tracking was strong, too. Across the community, Noomers logged 581 billion steps, which would add up to about 275 million miles—equivalent to circling the globe more than 11,000 times. Walking was the most logged movement overall, but strength training also showed up consistently, with weight lifting as the second most logged exercise. Movement beyond formal workouts mattered as well: house cleaning was the third most logged activity.
Noomers didn’t skip the fun, either. During Fourth of July weekend, the community logged nearly 8,800 hot dogs per day, about four times more than on other weekends!
And all these habits added up to real results: in 2025, the community lost 5,129,132 pounds, about 1.2 million more than the year before.

What foods stood out across the country
When we look at the most frequently logged foods by state, you can see how local tastes and food cultures show up in Noomers’ logs. Alongside commonly logged foods, each state had its own standout items. For example:
- In Maryland, crab cakes ranked near the top, reflecting the region’s famous seafood culture.
- In Texas, guacamole and refried beans took the top two spots, pointing to popular Southwestern and Tex-Mex flavors.
- Wisconsin logged cheese as the most frequent item, a nod to the state’s dairy heritage.
- In Vermont, maple syrup appeared high on the list, in line with the area’s maple tradition.
- And in Pennsylvania, Hershey’s Kisses were among the top logged foods, fitting for a state known for the chocolate maker headquartered there.
These patterns offer a glimpse into how regional tastes blend with everyday habits and health goals across the Noom community. Want to see more about your state? Check out the top foods logged by your neighbors most often relative to other foods.
